Position Title: Director of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Salary: $150,000 annually

Schedule: Full-time, 36 hours per week, Variable Shifts

Job Summary:

As the Director of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, you will provide critical leadership and management to enhance operational effectiveness, clinical excellence, and patient care quality in the CVICU. Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer, you are responsible for strategic planning, budget management, performance improvement, and staff leadership within the unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the CVICU department, ensuring high standards of patient care that align with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Oversee departmental operations including budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure optimal department function.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote patient safety, effective care, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Manage a team of nursing staff, providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations to foster a collaborative and efficient workplace.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to facilitate comprehensive care planning and improve patient outcomes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of advancements in cardiovascular care and integrate new practices and technologies into the unit.
  • Handle administrative functions such as reporting and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • BSN required; MSN or related healthcare administration degree preferred.
  • Current Florida RN license or eligible for licensure.
  • Minimum of 2 years of director-level experience in an acute care CVICU setting required.
  • 3 years of managerial experience in a CVICU may be considered.
  • Required certifications: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership in clinical setting with a strong focus on patient care quality and team management.
