About The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Controller to join our team. This key role will report to the CFO and lead all areas of the controllership function including, GL accounting, inventory management, A/R, A/P, payroll, and treasury / cash management. The person for this role will be hands-on in leading and developing a best-in-class Accounting team and driving process improvements and efficiencies to support a growing business.

About The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Controller to join our team. This key role will report to the CFO and lead all areas of the controllership function including, GL accounting, inventory management, A/R, A/P, payroll, and treasury / cash management. The person for this role will be hands-on in leading and developing a best-in-class Accounting team and driving process improvements and efficiencies to support a growing business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct oversight of day-to-day and monthly transactions and accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory management, payroll, and the overall general ledger
- Oversee all month end and year end close processes including variance analyses.
- Lead the annual financial statement review and maintain strong relationships with the external teams
- Implement and maintain internal controls where practical
- Partner with the external financial reporting team to analyze impact of new accounting guidance, support intercompany accounting, and external financial reporting including disclosures where applicable
- Partner with the external tax team to provide all annual documentation required to assure accurate and timely filing for all federal and state returns
- Support cash flow and treasury management
- Lead and train a team of 11, ensuring achievement of key goals and outcomes through regular performance management and training
- Identify and implement systems, tools and process changes to streamline the work of the accounting function and reduce time to close
- Collaborate with FP&A team to streamline budgeting and forecasting processes
- Partner with key business stakeholders to support business needs
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting with active CPA license
- Minimum 10 progressive years of experience is required, with a mix of public accounting and CPG industries preferred
- 5-6 years of experience managing accounting teams
- Strong management and leadership skills with an excitement to both roll up your sleeves and be a thoughtful, company-wide partner
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with NetSuite a plus
- Exceptional knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Must be very organized, detail-oriented and possess exceptional time management skills
- Highly motivated, self-starter who manages projects end-to-end and has a demonstrated track record of getting results, organizing and prioritizing deadlines
- Ability to multi-task several important priorities simultaneously
