Next Step Learning Centers is Hiring a Daycare Teacher Near Bloomfield, CT

Next Step Learning Center is looking for a caring and compassionate Daycare Teachers for our school in Bloomfield, CT.

The daycare teacher is the heart of the school. They are the first point of contact for parents, students, and teachers. They are responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment that prepares students to learn and thrive in a learning environment. The ideal candidate has a passion for children, love for teaching/learning, and a desire to make a difference in the lives of others.

Responsibilities

  • Develop positive relationships with students, parents, and teachers
  • Maintain classroom safety and health standards
  • Create schedules that allow for both student needs and teacher responsibilities
  • Communicate with teachers about student progress, behavior, and needs
  • Maintain a clean and safe learning environment
  • Participate in staff meetings, team building activities, parent reviews, and parent-teacher meetings
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings as schedueled
  • Assist with cleaning the classroom after students are gone and maintaining a cleanliness- this includes washing dishes, wiping furniture, mopping floors, etc.
  • Attend professional development training as needed. This includes all licensing requirements and training as well as child abuse training.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a childcare teacher (or other related position)
  • Excellent knowledge of child development and education (including working with children with special needs)
  • Methodical and creative mind
  • Ability to anticipate needs of children and provide positive activities for learning
  • Caring and compassionate personality

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
