About the Role:

An experienced Design Automation Engineer II is currently sought. This role involves designing, analyzing, and validating components and systems. The position includes the development of high-level product requirements with a focus on product specification, design for configurability, and system automation.

Responsibilities:

• Implement engineering and manufacturing changes to automate SolidWorks solid models via Confgit Engineering platform to provide data for downstream teams and systems.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and data sheets.
• Work under general supervision, relying on limited instructions and pre-established guidelines.
• Use basic programming to configure systems based on engineering documentation.
• Test and debug automation content outputs from the design automation application.
• Maintain/develop department-owned templates, calculation sheets, and reference documents.
• Support and implement enhancements to the design automation application and supporting interfaces.
• Assist in developing design validation models and configurations for new product development projects.
• Support engineering and Customer Service Center in writing configuration rules related to design automation.
• Work in a team environment with engineers, configurators, and representatives from sales and IT.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and company safety standards.
• Adhere to the corporate compliance policy and ensure that behavior in the workplace is that of a responsible professional.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. 5 years of design and drafting experience in an architectural, structural, or mechanical design environment.
2. Intermediate understanding of bills of material, manufacturing, and product structures.
3. Excellent customer service skills.
4. Strong decision-making abilities.
5. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
6. Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend technical documents.
7. Ability to clearly communicate technical requirements.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
9. Experience with SolidWorks required.
10. Experience using PLM/PDM software such as Windchill, SolidWorks PDM, ENOVIA, etc.
11. Understanding and ability to author basic programming logic and syntax (Visual BASIC or JavaScript preferred).
12. Demonstrated experience of working in a team environment.
13. Ability to work with limited instruction from a manager to meet project deadlines.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering field, or 5 years of equivalent SolidWorks or design experience.
