Nextonic Solutions LLC is Hiring a Program Manager (Relocation/Logistics) Near Bethesda, MD

Nextonic Solutions is seeking a highly ambitious, adaptable, structured, and detail-oriented Scientific Program Manager to join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Office of Workplace Solutions (OWS), an organization within Office of Science Management and Operations (OSMO).

Technical Requirements:

  • Manage, coordinate and complete projects whereby they are responsible for between 30 – 50 ongoing relocation project efforts at all times.
  • Oversee all aspects of projects; set deadlines, assign responsibilities; monitor and summarize progress of project for either laboratory, office, or unique relocation, requirements within NIAID and all NIAID locations throughout Maryland, Montana and relocating scientists from elsewhere to a NIAID location.
  • Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of projects to include progress, timing, costs, concerns, and accomplishments.
  • Translate complex requirements into specifications for project completion to diverse teams.
  • Act as liaison with other agencies and organizations when necessary for project completion.
  • Research new trends in project management and related technology. Assist with developing project budgets and ensuring that costs are contained.

Specific Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience is required.
  • Work experience in the area of logistics and relocation regarding actual hands-on work efforts with complex relocation is required.
  • Diverse experience in all facets of the relocation industry which includes customer interface, planning, understanding logistical methodologies, risks associated with hand offs to vendors, complex relocations (i.e. laboratory moves, expensive equipment, biological specimens, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels and functions within an organization including executive, finance, operations, IT, sales and human resources.
  • Strong, motivational team builder with experience in managing small and large diverse teams with varying backgrounds and experience levels.
  • Understands how to work directly with interior design teams on matters concerning office furniture reconfiguration/relocation
  • Excellent ability to work with senior management in a multi-cultural and multi-generational workplace environment.
  • Solid business acumen and decision-making skills, with ability to identify and resolve issues.
  • Clear understanding as to the risks associated with relocation of federal assets, as well as the handling and storage of such assets.
  • Awareness of the NIH culture and ability to successfully engage with broad ranges of staff, on diverse topics as associated with relocation planning, execution and follow up.
  • Seasoned understanding of transportation methodologies associated with complex relocation.
  • Ability to survey and plan complex relocation from point-to-point management as requested by the customer, and in support of larger requirements as defined by the scientific program as well as OWS.
  • Has on-site presence with customers, can quickly assess a situation, offer on-site recommendations and follow up so that the relocation is executed near flawlessly and with minimal interference in ongoing biomedical research or research related activities.
  • Has demonstrated experience in working well with other NIH organizations which support relocation such as biosafety, IT, physical security, accountable property, and warehousing.
  • Experience with understanding insurance considerations for high value equipment or assets which are to be moved which can include biomedical materials or event live biomedical animals.
  • Is able to inspect the work of other vendors for completeness and quality, inform OWS, to ensure that the project end results are suitable for both OWS and customer requirements.
  • Able to write and verbally resolve conflicts in a mature and non-combative manner.
  • Able to work collaboratively within the NIAID environment and recognizes the high-quality standards and expectations of the NIH and NIAID communities.
  • Experience in both small- and large-scale projects; whereby a small project is defined as moving a single person from one location to another; and a large project is defined as 100 persons moved in a phased approach from multiple locations to one location.
