The Selling Used Truck Sales Manager leads and develops the sales team to achieve sales goals and departmental profitability. The position is responsible for the continued growth of market share for pre-owned trucks, including Class 8, Medium Duty, and Vocational. Will work daily with the sales personnel to help them in planning, training, organizing, advertising, coordinating, and measuring sales pipeline activities. The Selling Used Truck Sales Manager will have a thorough understanding of the current and upcoming product benefits, financing, and warranty programs. The Selling Used Truck Sales Manager will also be responsible for used truck sales within assigned Area of Responsibility (“AOR”), through growth and retention of existing customers and obtaining new business. Will act with integrity, and business professionalism, and will uphold the Nextran Pledge to Customers.
Sales Duties And Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed sales goals both number of units and gross profit margin
  • Develop and manage your AOR
  • Sell full product range across all industries
  • Utilize tools and systems to complete all sales processes and ensure consistent customer experience:
  • Work with all areas of dealership
  • Timely complete all Company and OEM sponsored training programs and requirements
Sales Management Duties & Responsibilities
  • Leads and develops a successful Sales Team
  • Issues Reporting in accordance with Dealership requirements. May include sales projections, budget forcasting, profitability, etc.)
  • Territory Management – Assign and monitor territories and accounts
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with other departments within the Company as well as third-party vendors i.e., body companies, etc. Works with Director of Pre-Owned to manage inventory so it may be turned at a profit.
  • Attends to customer complaints, ensuring that a high level of customer satisfaction is obtained
  • Attends regional association meetings, and/or other networking events

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree or Associate degree with commensurate work experience required
  • Minimum 10 years sales experience with proven track record of achieving sales goals.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Mack, Volvo, Hino, or Isuzu brands, preferred.
  • Sales presentation, negotiation and closing skills required.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License a plus
