Job Description

Classification: Hourly Non-Exempt

Status – Part-time 

Reports To: BCBA/BCaBA/Nexus Therapies Management 

Summary/Objective: Clinical Manager/ ABA Program Supervisor

Assisting BCBAs in supervising clients with various developmental disabilities and needs, with the supervision of BCBA, assist in performing assessments for the continuation of services and or as needed, assisting with report writing, developing treatment plans, providing and/or supervising the implementation of ABA therapy to children and adolescents in the home and community settings, maintaining data and making treatment decisions based on progress, providing training to employees and families, coordinating and/or attending pertinent meetings with community providers, and maintaining client records and documentation from intake to discharge. BCaBAs will receive ongoing supervision by a BCBA. The BCaBA or Clinical manager maintains a weekly billable caseload of service hours as directed by the Lead BCBA or Director of Operations.

Essential Functions:

  • Understands and implements Nexus Therapies policies and protocols
  • Understands and applies Ethical standards abided by the Board of Behavior Analysts.
  • Cultural Competent- Able to work with a variety of cultures
  • Experience with implementing functional behavior assessments with children with autism and related disabilities.
  • Ability to work with individuals exhibiting various types of problem behaviors including aggression and self-injurious behaviors
  • Strong clinical background or experience in administering verbal behavior assessments.
  • Experience conducting language/communication, social, play, and skill-based assessments.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and/or training others using individualized needs using skill-based curricula.
  • Supervise in-home 1:1 programs for a wide range of clients diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
  • Collect, graph, analyze, display, interpret, and discuss data-based progress.
  • Ability to conduct parent trainings/meetings as needed
  • Ability to conduct staff ABA-related training topics Knowledge of the principles and practice of Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks/goals for self and others.
  • Demonstrates leadership and problem solver
  • Excellent soft skills such as time management, creative thinking, team player, excellent work ethics, and self-motivator
  • Ability to use technology
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the clients, families, clinical team, and administration
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet California’s driving requirements
  • Ability to work in different environments including dealing with various maladaptive behaviors
  • *Must successfully pass an FBI & DOJ background check.
  • Actively communicates the Nexus Therapies’ outreach efforts to the community
  • Adheres to the mission, vision, and values of Nexus Therapies
  • Responsible for maintaining certification and informed regarding BACB updates

Required Education and Experience:

  • A Board Certified associate Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) OR has a Bachelor's Degree and educational coursework completed in the areas of child development, special education, psychology, or related field. 12-semester units in Applied Behavior Analysis, and 1 year of behavior therapist experience working with individuals with Autism OR have a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with Autism.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of ABA strategies and procedures including NET, DTT, PECS, PRT, and other ABA strategies in addition to the principles of behavior

Requirements

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to see for purposes of reading laws and codes, rules and policies, and other printed matter and observing students.
  • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal speech levels, in the English language.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Moderate to high-stress levels.
  • Work fluctuates between a clinical, office, and home environment.
  • Ability to work in occasional adverse weather conditions.
  • Regular contact with parents, and clinical team. community members, administration team, and outside agency personnel.
  • Hazards: incumbent may be exposed to contact with individuals displaying physically aggressive, self-abusive, or socially undesirable behavior.
  • Ability and willingness to travel between client locations for appointments as assigned in a punctual manner.

Travel

  • This position requires traveling between client residences in your designated territory.

Highly Desired

  • BCaBA Certified
  • Bilingual in Spanish 
  • Masters degree or Enrolled in an ABA Masters's program
