Nexus Therapy is now hiring for a full-time paraprofessional position for the 2024-2025 school year. It pays $28 per hour with a schedule of 7:20-3:20 Mondays-Thursdays (7:50-3:20 on Fridays) with a .5 hour unpaid lunch, for a total of 37 hours/week! You'd be working with a great district near charming Northwood, New Hampshire. In this position, you would work 1:1 with a 4th grade student or with students in the partner classroom (resource room setting), which is overseen by staff from the New England Center for Children (NECC). This classroom serves students with autism who would likely otherwise be placed out of district. The programs are individualized but include time in the partner classroom and time in inclusive settings with peers. ABA based strategies are used to teach positive behaviors and adaptive as well as academic skills, so experience with ABA therapy is a strong bonus!

Responsibilities:

- Implement behavior intervention plans, to support student success in the classroom

- Collect and record data on client progress and behavior

- Assist with the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans

- Provide direct one-on-one therapy to individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)

- Teach and reinforce appropriate social, communication, and daily living skills

- Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure consistency in implementing behavior strategies

- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for students

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred.

- Previous experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is a plus

- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license

- Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary clearances

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team

- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others
