NHRCES (North Hills Regional Catholic Elementary Schools) is Hiring a Human Resources Coordinator Near Pittsburgh, PA

Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Safe Environment Database Monitoring:
  • Work collaboratively with the Diocese of Pittsburgh Office for Compliance. 
  • Regularly review database entries for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures for data entry and updates.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Assist with developing and posting job descriptions for open positions.
  • Screen and pre-qualify candidate applications.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating interviews.
  • Facilitate new employee onboarding processes, including paperwork, benefits enrollment, and orientation.
  • Employee Relations:
  • Provide administrative support for performance management processes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee files.
  • Assist with processing leaves of absence, terminations, and other personnel actions.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and concerns regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Benefits Administration:
  • Assist with open enrollment and benefit elections.
  • Process new enrollments and changes to benefits selections.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee benefit records.
  • Liaise with the Benefits Department to resolve issues and answer questions.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with federal, state, and diocesan employment laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain various HR reports and data analysis.
  • Assist with audits and investigations as needed.
Qualifications:

Competencies and skills that are particularly important for the effective exercise of the role of the NHRCES Human Resources Coordinator:

  • Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work in a rigorous office environment.
  • Clear background check required.

Formation, Training, and Criteria for Readiness:

Preparation for the role of the NHRCES Human Resources Coordinator needs to include development of the competencies and skills as outlined above. Effective exercise of this role particularly requires:

  1. An orientation to the mission of the diocese and of the NHRCES.
  2. Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
  3. A bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  4. 1-2 years experience preferred but not required.
  5. Experience with the Google Applications Suite.

Safe Environments for Children

As with all positions that involve contact with children in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, this ministry comes under the Safe Environment Policy of the diocese which requires the following clearances:

  1. Code of Pastoral Conduct
  2. PA Child Abuse History Clearance
  3. PA State Police Criminal Record Check
  4. Protecting God’s Children
  5. FBI Fingerprinting
  6. Child Protection Service Law Training
  7. Mandated Reporter Training
