The Role This role will support the development of service implementation of annual physical health checks for all people with Learning Disabilities in Lanarkshire. The Post Holder Will Support The Senior Charge Nurse On The Scottish Governments Guidance That An Annual Health Check Is Offered To
those aged 16 and over who are known by the board to have a learning disability; and
those aged 16 and over who identify themselves as having a learning disability (whether or not that learning disability has been formally diagnosed and regardless of whether its mild, moderate sever or profound).

Registered Nurse with valid UK NMC Registration
The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative
Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Excellent time management skills
Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence and access to vehicle.It would be great if you also have
Up to date with NHS mandatory training
Recent experience in Learning Disability inpatients
Good knowledge around mental health and related legislation
Knowledge of health inequalities
Demonstrate evidence based
Practice and knowledge and experience in LD
Clinical practice skills, Phlebotomy, ECG interpretation etc

Please note this is a fixed term post for 2 years.. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post. Location and Working Pattern This role will be based within Community Learning Disability Services within Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters, but will cover Lanarkshire.
