NHS Ayrshire & Arran is Hiring a Rehab Support Worker Near Fife, WA

An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Healthcare Support Workers or experienced Carers to join our Intermediate Care Team in the Integrated Community Assessment and Support Service (ICASS) in our Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline sites.
The Intermediate Care Service provides rehabilitation to the adult population within the community in the individuals own home. The primary function of this role will be to work closely alongside NHS Fife and Fife Council staff to deliver therapeutic treatment and personal care programmes to service users living in their own homes, promoting independence with activities of daily living, preventing hospital admission and supporting early discharge from hospital.
Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Nurses and Social Care Staff will provide specialist assessments to this patient group and will provide you with workload allocation. The workload will include provision of therapeutic interventions to promote independence with all aspects of personal care, meal preparation and additional activities that are important to the individual. All interactions are with the aim to support the individuals to achieve their personal outcomes.
You should have good organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work independently as well as within a team. Previous clinical experience in a care giving setting is essential. Good IT skills are essential to support electronic record keeping and scheduling. Please refer to the full job description and job specification for detailed information.
Working shift patterns to include evening and weekend working will be required. There may be occasions where you will also be required to work within another ICASS base across the West Fife services.
The ability to travel throughout the area with the ability to respond to unplanned urgent situations is essential as our visits can cover the whole of Fife.
Our service offers regular supervision, PDP and supports training opportunities.
If successful in your application and you do not already hold an SVQ Level III or equivalent academic qualification in Health and Social Care, you will be expected to undertake this approximately 9 months after taking up post. It is expected that you complete this qualification, which will be fully funded by NHS Fife. Your Line Manager will provide you with more information once you are in post.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.
NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application.
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination.
