Senior Inspector (Ref: 188677)Permanent post, Full-time (37 hours per week)£56,992 £61,552 (AfC Band 8a)Glasgow/Edinburgh, Hybrid working will apply for the foreseeable future Quality Assurance Directorate of Healthcare Improvement Scotland has interesting and exciting opportunities for enthusiastic and positive healthcare professionals to lead, manage and deliver a portfolio of high-profile inspections which meet legislative, statutory and national requirements for delivery of care and services to the people of Scotland. This post is to lead the Maternity & Neonatal (Perinatal) Inspection Programme.
You will have extensive knowledge of and recent experience in midwifery with substantial senior management and leadership experience, working in NHS, HSCP, or Independent Healthcare. Be able to demonstrate high level analytical skills to analyse, interpret and present in written and verbal form, complex information. The post holder will provide subject matter expertise, clinical assurance, and visible clinical leadership across the inspection programme to ensure that strategic and operational direction to Healthcare Improvement Scotland’s Maternity & Neonatal (Perinatal) inspection programme.
As an experienced healthcare professional or inspector, with experience of working at a senior level you will be required to Lead the development of a new Maternity & Neonatal (Perinatal) inspection programme aligned with the principles of the Quality Assurance System and framework as part of a Quality Management System.
Candidates must hold current active registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and have recent experience of working in a senior leadership role providing professional and clinical oversight and guidance in relation to strategic planning and delivery of care. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills will be fundamental to success in this role. In addition, candidates will have experience and knowledge of Scottish health and social care systems, structures and policies.
Regular travel throughout Scotland will be required (including overnight stays), this may be required at short notice.
