Employment Litigation Associate
My client is a plaintiff law firm that specializes in Employment Litigation. They are looking for a strong litigator to join their team.
This role would handle traditional employment litigation, but they would also consider someone with the ability and to help expand a plaintiff wage and hour class-action employment law division.
Responsibilities:
• Consultations, determining cases to retain, preparing case background summaries, calculating federal, state and administrative statutes of limitations, financial investigations of companies and individuals, preparation of claim letters and responses to claim letters, and preparation of damages calculations and estimates. .
• Complaints, including class, collective, discrimination, third-party and administrative complaints. • Answers, affirmative defenses and counterclaims, position statements in administrative proceedings.
• Discovery responses/demands, interrogatories, document production, initial disclosures and admissions.
• Taking/defending depositions, preparation of clients, post deposition discovery demands.
• Motions to dismiss and for summary judgment, opposition to motions to dismiss, motions to amend pleadings, default judgment, vacate default, implead third parties, oppose interlocutory appeal, reargue decision and compel discovery.
• Preliminary, initial, compliance, settlement, motion, pre-trial conferences, hearings.
• Mediations, settlement negotiations, settlement agreements, offers of judgment.
