Nichols Portland, LLC is Hiring a Pump Line Leader Near South Portland, ME
Position Summary:Oversees product flow, associates, and assembly equipment to ensure efficient operation of the pump assembly process. Operates assembly operations as needed to maintain product flow and efficiency.
Essential Functions:

- Conduct tests according to process instructions; respond to machine feedback.
- Maintain and organize data and systems in accordance with customer requirements and/or company Quality and Environmental Management Systems
- Monitor functional and quality equipment checks performed by associates to ensure compliance to standards.
- Enter data, review, and identify inconsistencies.
- Adhere to safety, quality and productivity policies, practices, and guidelines.
- Interact effectively with co-workers and internal support departments.
- Maintain equipment and work areas; troubleshoot as problems arise.
- Maintain and coordinate training of Pump Assembly associates, assign trainers as necessary and evaluate effectiveness of training.
- Schedule and monitor preventative maintenance activities for Pump Assembly equipment
- Monitor gage calibration status and coordinate with calibration department to ensure all gages in use are within calibration guidelines.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years’ experience at the Pump Assembly I level or demonstrated proficiency.
- Proficient in PLEX modules and transactions for Pump Assembly
- Willing and capable of training and mentoring fellow associates in PLEX modules and transactions.
- Demonstrates a high-level attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Solid mechanical aptitude
- Basic computer skills
- Intermediate math skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to succeed in and promote a team environment.
- Ability to travel to vendor or customer sites.
- Ability to speak and listen to express ideas.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 35 lbs without assistance.
- Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with associated oils and chemicals.
