Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products. You will work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and technical experts to make our products easier to use.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation including user manuals, how-to guides, technical specifications, and other documents as needed.
  • Collaborate with various teams including engineering, project management, and customer support to gather information and understand documentation requirements.
  • Translate complex technical concepts and solutions into clear, concise, and engaging content suitable for the intended audience.
  • Create diagrams, screenshots, and other visual aids to complement the written content.
  • Review and edit content created by other team members to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Conduct user testing to gather feedback and improve documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure documentation remains current and relevant.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of documentation standards and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to translate them into user-friendly documentation.
  • Proficiency in using documentation tools such as Solidworks Composer, Foxit, Microsoft Office, and content management systems.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Work Environmental and Physical Demands:

  • In order to perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. may be required.
  • Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to a Client's office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
  • Candidates will be required to show a driving abstract with a clean driving history for travel between the NCI facility locations and client offices as required. A valid driver’s license is necessary.

Environmental Safety Requirements:

  • New Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees, including Safety Awareness
  • All safety related training is provided and tracked by the EH&S Technician
  • Job specific training modules deemed necessary by employee’s Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basis
  • Employees are required to wear Nikkiso provided PPE as/when needed. PPEs include, face coverings, safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats & dust masks. Failure to comply with Nikkiso Cryo safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.
