WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will be responsible for recording our financial transactions with unwavering accuracy. This position supports the CFO, and will be responsible for processing the company’s day-to-day transactions. The staff accountant will play an instrumental role in ensuring a smooth and timely month-end / year-end close.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Create and post journal entries for all receipts, payments, and other financial transactions while filing associated source documents.
● Work closely with our operations team to manage accounts payable, invoicing, collections.
● Assist with ensuring payroll and associated employee deductions are accurate and timely.
● Perform general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors made by both internal and external personnel.
● Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all operational management accounts.
● Maintain and update records and reports for profit and loss, sales tax, liabilities, and assets.
● Assist with ensuring timely collection and payment of sales tax liabilities in multiple jurisdictions.
● Liaise with outside accounting consultants in preparation of company income tax returns.
● Prepare ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
● Be the expert of our Sage Intacct ERP and its third-party integrations.
● Assist the CFO with annual budgets and forecasting.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent experience
● Minimum 2 years of professional accounting experience, preferably at a similarly sized company
● Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality
● Familiarity with GAAP
● Highly Ethical
● Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
● Exceptional attention to detail and deadlines
● Local to Denver with the ability to work in our engaging office space 2 days / week

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Working knowledge of Sage Intaact, Avalara, and Ramp
● CPA certification with GAAP proficiency
● Multi-jurisdiction sales tax experience

COMPENSATION
$80,000 – $85,000 annual salary, DOE, plus bonus.
