Candidates will be expected to teach US History to acombined 9th and 10th grade cohort of students, with differentiation to include grade-level and honorslevel coursework within the course. History offerings at Nishmat Adin rotate on a two-year cycle thatalternates with World History, and priority will be given to a teacher who could stay on for the followingyear to teach both courses. This is an excellent position for someone seeking flexible or part-timehours and/or supplemental income. Outstanding candidates should be effective, engaging,approachable, caring, and reliable.Essential Job Functions:• Course Instruction and Commitment to Professional Excellenceo Willingness to formulate course curricula or implement existing course curriculao Delivering engaging history lessons on different time periods, movements, and otherhistorical events and figures, at both an introductory and advanced class levelo Grading exams, tests, quizzes, assignments, and presentations, and contacting parentsand other faculty members to discuss concerns and schedule interventionso Assessing student work and providing meaningful feedback to guide learning and growtho Providing extra support to struggling students and additional resources to those whodisplay exceptional interest in history.o Regularly expanding educational networks and participating in workshops, lectures, andother learning opportunities is desirable.• Contributing to a Positive and Supportive School Culture:o Building personal relationships with all students that demonstrate respect andcompassiono Using classroom management strategies and approaches to create and maintain aclassroom environment of safety, respect, positivity, acceptance, and learningo Collaborating with colleagues when feasible to offer integrated learning opportunities, inorder to enhance the instructional and institutional environmento Willingness to receive constructive feedback• General Professionalism:o Keeping accurate student recordso Maintaining reliable, consistent attendance and punctuality
