Summary
Under the supervision of the Director, EO/AA Program Coordinator will gather, organize, and analyze data to show areas of underutilization. Based on EEO laws, guidance and NJ TRANSIT policies and procedures, the incumbent will help, the EO/AA Officers with planning, organizing, and conducting harassment and discrimination training and site visits. The incumbent will also support the Office of EEO/AA by partnering with the Human Resources Department to coordinate outreach events.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Supports Director, EEO/AA and EEO/AA Officers in coordinating, conducting and tracking EEO training; maintains training materials and coordinates training for employees.
  • Helps to create, implement, and support the Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action (EEO/AA) Program to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Aids in the compilation of documentation in preparation of meetings with supervisors, executive management, and NJ Transit Boards members to respond to inquiries.
  • Collects necessary employee data from various departments to prepare and submit data for compliance, reporting and monitoring; gathers data for special projects and/or to respond to internal compliance reviews. Data may include recruitment, hiring, terminations, promotions, disciplinary actions, salaries, applicant flows, and transfers.
  • Conjunctively, with the Director, EEO/AA, EEO/AA Officers and Human Resources, assist in reviewing job postings and take part in recruitment planning to address underrepresentation.
  • Assists Director, EEO/AA with the preparation of NJ Transit’s annual EEO Program.
  • Maintains EEO/AA bulletin board postings.
  • Assists in the investigation of internal unlawful discrimination and harassment complaints, as needed.
  • Assists Director, EEO/AA prepare quarterly statistical reports and analysis on EEO progress toward goals.
  • Performs various other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Qualifications
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university;
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in equal employment opportunity and affirmative action, or related field that may include compliance, training and investigations;
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from a US Department of Education accredited college or university and three (3) years related experience as described above.

Knowledge and Skills
Essential
  • Ability to apply basic computer applications and software;
  • Ability to communicate and work with individuals and groups with diverse backgrounds;
  • Ability to effectively deal with all levels of management;
  • Ability to analyze data and make judgments about data integrity, effectiveness or compliance;
  • Ability to develop and present effective, informative educational material to various groups and communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Preferred
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state civil rights laws and regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Knowledge of the implementation of affirmative action programs;
