Position Title: Audiologist
Reports to: Coordinator of Whole Child Support Team
Service Area: Santa Fe campus, Albuquerque Preschool
Employment Term: Full-time; Exempt position
Salary/Wage Range: $72,191- $116,115Dependent upon qualifications and experience
Summary
Audiologists at NMSD provide comprehensive, educationally relevant audiology services for all students. Audiologists are an integral part of the NMSD multidisciplinary team and provide support and consultation to include NMSD’s Early Intervention Developmental Services (EIDS) and the Statewide Educational Outreach Program. Audiologists provide support and resources to NMSD Families, participate in IFSP/IEP meetings, and represent NMSD in statewide initiatives and/or committees. The audiologist provides appropriate logistic and optimal operation of audiology services. It is essential and expected that all functions of this position be performed in a positive and receptive manner, while helping to advance the mission and vision of the New Mexico School for the Deaf.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education/Experience
Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Audiology. Doctor of Audiology (AuD) preferred but not required. Licensed in the state of New Mexico or ability to obtain licensure. Experience with deaf and hard of hearing children; experience with fitting hearing aids, evaluation, and selection; experience with hearing assistive technology (including FM systems).
Language skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical manuals, governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and procedures directly related to job duties.
Sign Language
The applicant shoud have fluency in American Sign Language or a willingness to acquire this fluency. Applicants will be required to demonstrate progressive sign language acquisition and, if needed, participate in sign language classes offered at NMSD.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers of common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to think independently and problem solve.
Computer skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as various software packages.
