Shift : Tuesday through Friday, 12 : 30 pm to 9 : 00 pm, and Saturday, 9 : 30 am to 6 : 00 pm (10% shift differential offered)

Job Summary :

The Team Leader reports to the Supervisor of Specimen Processing and is responsible for leading the Specimen Processing Team.

Key objectives of this position include :

• Entering patient data into the NMS laboratory management information system (LIMS) accurately and promptly.
• Creating and transferring sample aliquots to the testing departments in a timely manner.
• Assisting with implementing practice changes and workflow improvements within the Specimen Processing Department.

Requirements :

• High School Diploma with 6 years of lab experience, or
• Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of lab experience

Major Duties and Responsibilities :

• Lead the Specimen Processing Team in logging and aliquoting specimens according to NMS SOPs and documented practices.
• Serve as backup to the Supervisor and assist with scheduling, IT issues, investigating non-conformities, and strategic planning.
• Maintain compliance with accreditation requirements (e.g., CAP Checklist).
• Assist with training staff when requested.
• Act as a liaison between Specimen Processing, laboratory staff, and other departments.
• Update and contribute to SOP creation, improvement, or revision.
• Oversee projects.

• Ability to travel as needed for court testimony.
