We are seeking a Machine Operator to join our Elgin, IL. production team as a Slitter Operator. Training will be provided! While gaining the technical knowledge required in the manufacturing process and building production skills through teamwork, this position will support operations to optimize output and maximize productivity. In this role, you will also ensure excellent quality in addition to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

***$1 Per Hour Shift Differential once training is completed and you are moved to 2nd Shift***

Job Responsibilities:

• Get direction from the Production Floor Lead on job assignments for the day
• Set up the machine according to job order and optimization
• Confirm that the master roll product code matches the code on the job order
• Inspect rolls for any defects and/or blemishes
• Program job order information into the machine controller
• Monitor project throughout the run to ensure accuracy and conformity to job specifications
• Maintain an attitude of safety consistently throughout the day
• Make sure every precaution is taken to use guards, gloves, and protection as needed
• Be proactive with product quality and addressing machine performance issues
• Complete Operator Inspection sheet
• Work hard and have fun!

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Able to work in a team environment and fulfill objectives with minimal direct supervision
• Interact in a supportive and positive way with others
• Mechanical aptitude is a plus
• Must have basic math skills and understand how to read a tape measure
• Basic computer skills needed for order processing
• Demonstrates organizational skills
• Must be dependable and maintain an exemplary punctuality and attendance rate

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a daily basis
• Must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, and twist on a daily basis
• Must be able to stand for an extended period of time on a daily basis
• Ability to work on weekends if necessary

Night Shift Hours

• 8 Hour Shift: 1:30pm to 10:00pm- 30 min lunch
• 10 Hour Shift: 3:00pm to 1:00am- 30 min lunch
• 12 Hour Shift: 5:00pm to 5:00am- 30 min lunch

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
