DescriptionDepartment: Development
Reports to: Chief Development Officer
Working Location: this is a hybrid role, approximately 60% remote (two days per week collaborating in-office), depending on schedule and role requirements, recognizing that some events take place during evenings/weekends.
Salary: $90,000 - $105,000

The Role
The Director of Major Gifts will be a key contributor in managing Noble’s portfolio of donors to reach a $8M annual fundraising goal. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this person will work closely with the Director of Philanthropic Operations and other members of the Development team. The Director of Major Gifts will own and manage a $2M portfolio of individual donors and corporate partners. Their focus will be on renewing and increasing investments and major gifts from current donors and pursuing and securing new donors.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Identify, qualify and create strategies to pursue new donor prospects.
  • Work with the Chief Development Officer and Director of Philanthropic Operations to
  • to successfully expand and manage a strong donor pipeline, focusing on individual donors and corporations.
  • Develop relationships with donors to enable them to understand how their vision and passions intersect with the needs of Noble’s schools and org-wide programs.
  • Increase retention of donors in this portfolio year over year through personalized relationship management based on donor interest and strategic organizational priorities.
  • Secure first-time five-figure gifts by leveraging connections with Noble’s Board of Directors and other Noble advocates.
  • Design and execute thoughtful campus visits, donor recognition strategies, events and other engagement for current and prospective donors.
  • Travel around the greater Chicagoland area to meet with donors, as needed, whether at Noble’s campuses or donors’ preferred location.
Candidate QualificationsAmong the many qualifications we are seeking, the ideal candidate for Noble’s Director of Major Gifts should have:
  • Unwavering commitment to Noble's anti-racist commitment and mission of preparing students for college success and the firm belief in the potential of every student.
  • Clear alignment with Noble’s core values of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Follow-Through; Humility and Self-Awareness; Respect; and Results.
  • Proven track record of outstanding results, with 5 years of experience in donor stewardship strongly preferred, and a demonstrated track record securing mid-to-high five-figure and six-figure gifts.
  • Preferred: demonstrated success securing planned gifts using a variety of giving vehicles
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and reliably deliver results.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication. Ability to translate results into compelling and clear messaging to donors.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with peers and lead donor strategy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately under deadlines.
  • Experienced in using CRM software; Salesforce preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
