Key Job Responsibilities

• Teach English language class to "Newcomer" student population
• Co-teach in both ELA and Geometry classes
• Work with the enrollment point on home language survey completion for new-to-district scholars
• Administer the required English proficiency screener (WIDA) and enter scores into ASPEN
• Support the maintenance of EL files and records that meet ISBE audit requirements
• Support the updating of EL profiles on ASPEN and PowerSchool
• Support the administration and proctoring of the ACCESS test and Seal of Biliteracy test
• Complete tasks related to EL Programming as assigned
• Monitor the academic progress of students in the multilingual program

• Mastery of and enthusiasm for supporting Multilingual Learners
• Proven commitment to serving students of color and contributing to anti-racism in practice and disposition

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Eligibility to work in the United States on a full-time basis
• Active Illinois Teaching License (PEL) with an ESL endorsement
• Spanish fluency
