As the Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring financial transactions, and preparing financial reports for our company. Responsibilities
  • Bookkeeping in Xero software.
  • Do the bookkeeping and report that info back so that we can improve.
  • Responsible for financial goal reporting - tracking and providing metrics on how the company is performing on specific projects as a whole.
  • Helping to manage overhead costs to improve net profits.
  • Bill payment, filing, and scanning.
  • Starting and stopping utilities.
  • Starting and stopping insurance.
  • Work with the lead manager to track performance on our marketing spend by category and track/report project performance.
  • Provide support to make other members of the team more productive and efficient.
  • Opportunity for growth into other projects and tasks such as:
    • Document prep
    • Spreadsheet analysis
    • List management
    • Sales support
    • Online marketing with website search engine optimization or social media ads and posting
Qualifications
  • Experience with Bookkeeping and Xero software is a bonus, but not required.
  • Strong computer experience and knowledge with Microsoft Office.
  • Detailed oriented and organized - enjoys creating and following a structured process while working on process improvement.
  • Independently productive without micromanagement.
  • Ability to organize time and tasks to meet responsibilities and production goals.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a team player.
Compensation
  • $52,000/yr ($25/hr) - $62,400/yr ($30/hr) a bonus of $50 per house purchased from $500 to $1500 per year

Makaela has 24 years of real estate experience as a residential mortgage broker, an underwriter at a mortgage bank, an account executive at a mortgage bank funding 100 million in loans a month, as a realtor on a foreclosure team during the great recession, and as a high producing realtor and long-term real estate investor.
We impact lives buying houses and helping people solve large stressful problems around housing in a friendly low pressure compassionate way with no judgement and privacy. Through our work buying from 10 - 30 houses a year at a value around 7 million a year, we provide work that supports 15-40 people and families. We renovate houses with care and craftsmanship that provides homes for people in our community, improving the community one house at a time one family at a time. We rent houses and evaluate people as a whole and don’t disqualify residents out of hand based on past mistakes or hard times they may have had. We believe no matter your past you can be redeemed and move forward positively.
