Who You AreArtemis Health is in search of a Vice President of Engineering with extensive experience in data and analytics to lead and inspire our engineering organization. The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in SaaS development within the healthcare industry and demonstrate a profound understanding of healthcare data and analytics. This executive role demands a customer-focused leader capable of driving the strategic direction, scaling our engineering capabilities, delivering consistently high-quality Platform performance, and communicating with key clients and company stakeholders. What You'll DoStrategic Leadership:
  • Define and drive the strategic vision for the engineering organization, aligning technology initiatives with Artemis Health's business goals and product roadmap.
  • Drive consistent technical leadership and architectural decision-making across the engineering organization.
  • Make build vs. buy decisions efficiently and transparently, ensuring optimal use of resources and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the design, architecture, development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of scalable, secure, and high-performing SaaS solutions.
Data & Analytics Expertise:
  • Utilize deep data and analytics knowledge to guide strategic technology decisions, ensuring alignment with healthcare regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Apply expertise in managing large datasets used for analytics, addressing challenges related to data ingestion, transformation, cleaning, and ensuring security and compliance throughout these processes.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain Artemis Health's competitive edge.
Operational Excellence:
  • Implement and optimize engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to drive efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Manage platform cost efficiency and scalability to optimize resource usage and support business growth.
  • Ensure robust DevOps practices, focusing on the security, reliability, and scalability of the platform.
  • Oversee the achievement and renewal of important business certifications (e.g., HITRUST) and ensuring continued compliance with industry standards.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Forge strong relationships with product, sales, customer success, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless alignment of technology initiatives with business objectives.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the Artemis leadership team, contributing to the overall leadership and direction of the company.
  • Lead integration efforts with Nomi, other business units under the Nomi organization, and external partners to develop solutions when strategically beneficial.
Team Development:
  • Build and nurture a collaborative and high-functioning engineering team that values quality output, personal growth, and fun.
  • Champion a culture of execution, productivity, and sustainability (EPS), focusing on delivering high-quality products on time and within budget.
Innovation & Growth:
  • Drive the continuous improvement of engineering practices, fostering an environment of creativity and technical excellence.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for innovation and technological advancements to enhance the platform's capabilities and market position.
Problem-Solving Abilities
  • Innovative Thinking: Capable of finding creative solutions to complex problems, particularly those unique to the healthcare industry.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data and analytics to make informed decisions and measure the success of engineering initiatives.
  • Facilitate cross-functional problem-solving efforts, engaging with product, engineering, and other skillsets to drive effective and innovative solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL HAVE
  • Extensive experience leading and scaling engineering organizations within the healthcare sector, with a strong focus on SaaS development.
  • Solid understanding of data and analytics, including healthcare regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience in implementing an offshore strategy that complements a successful onshore engineering organization or in thoroughly evaluating such an option and deciding against it to better support an onshore engineering organization.
  • Proven track record of strategic leadership, with the ability to align technology initiatives with business goals and drive organizational growth.
  • Strong technical background in software design, architecture, and development, with expertise in agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with a commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in achieving and maintaining industry certifications such as SOC2 and HITRUST.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a long-term perspective and proven track record for turning big ideas into actionable plans that get executed and deployed.
