DescriptionJob Summary: Responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing, and administering of occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician.
Essential Functions
- Complies with HIPAA and OSHA regulatory requirements.
- Administers treatments and occupational agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability.
- Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.
- Ensures that any changes in patient status are documented accurately and on a timely basis.
- The staff therapist coordinates delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to support staff (COTA, Rehab Techs).
- The staff OT participates in operational aspects of the department maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in all Quality Assurance activities.
- Provides input in formulating budget, assists in evaluating department performance versus budget controls and takes appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines.
- Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
- Demonstrates dependability by being consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality
- High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Licensed in the State of Ohio.
- Current Occupation Therapy license in the State of Ohio
