Position: Commercial Roofing Safety Director

Location: Hybrid - Central Illinois Area

Our client is looking for a top-notch Safety Director to to lead and manage safety initiatives and safety loss control programs, fostering a culture of safety and risk management. The role involves developing and implementing safety strategies, policies, and procedures to comply with OSHA and construction industry standards.

Essential Job Duties:

• Develop and communicate the Company's safety vision, objectives, and policies
• Provide proactive leadership to build a best-in-class safety culture
• Anticipate problems, offer solutions, and provide training to all staff levels
• Ensure compliance with internal and external safety training requirements
• Lead incident investigations and manage hazard assessments
• Conduct safety inspections and analyze data for preventive measures
• Develop annual safety plans and budgets
• Assist in hiring, coaching, and managing staff to foster a high-performance team
• Manage safety incentive programs and workers' compensation claims
• Oversee return-to-work programs and participate in the Safety Committee
• Administer the motor vehicle safety program
• Other duties and functions as required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in environmental health & safety, safety management, or related field
• OSHA500, CSP certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years experience in construction industry safety management
• In depth technical knowledge of construction related OSHA, federal, state, and local regulatory standards, and ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective practices
• Must be an effective communicator, generating professional written material and delivering effective verbal presentations
• Must have a valid driver's license
