Nordic Semiconductor is Hiring a HR Manager US Near Portland, OR

About the job
It’s an exciting time to join Nordic Semiconductor as we continue our rapid growth with dedicated colleagues worldwide. Our HR team are growing in line with the organization, and we are now looking for an HR Manager 50%, to support managers and ensure a common Nordic approach to local HR work.

The role as HR Manager in the US is a newly established role, and the main objective is overall strategic and operational HR management. The role will be responsible for understanding the strategic plan of the business/region and align the HR activities to supporting that strategy. You will develop and implement HRM solutions that meet the needs of the business, whilst seeking to continuously improve upon already established processes and procedures. You will have the opportunity to shape and develop the position in parallel with creating value for the business. By further extending our global HR team, we will enhance organizational capabilities and compliance and drive change as a strategic partner for our business. You will collaborate closely with the global HR team in Europe and Asia.

Key responsibilities

  • Co-responsibility for driving the strategic and organizational development of the division together with line managers while collaborate with the global HR team to ensure a common Nordic approach to local HR work
  • Overall HR support for management and employees in US – be the local HR representative and a go-to person for hands-on support for line managers in their daily follow-up of employees
  • Develop and maintain a good relationship with management, employees and other relevant stakeholders locally, contributing to guiding the organizational mindset according to corporate expectations and local relevance, and being a sparring partner for local management
  • Drive, implement and execute local employer branding initiatives in alignment with global strategy and provide local recruitment support for line managers in accordance with global recruitment process
  • Ensure structured, compliant local HR in accordance with Nordic guidelines and procedures as well as local implementation of processes for relevant stakeholders to ensure global alignment
  • Implement and use analytics and relevant tools (root cause analysis) to continuously improve HRM Processes.
  • Educate and support managers regarding HR, management and personnel related matters and close collaboration with local employee representatives
  • Ensure consistent and effective application of human resources processes and programs including annual salary review, performance reviews etc. and contribute to local payroll tasks and be back up for Accounting and Payroll
  • Personnel administration, hereunder employee relations including assessment of and managing absence, disciplinary cases, grievances and sickness, contracts etc.
  • Provide data and advice related to competitiveness of reward offering, e.g., salary range development market benchmarking, benefit structure etc. in collaboration with other relevant HR representatives.
  • Serve as a resource to colleagues and local managers in facilitating the resolution of internal issues and conflicts.
  • Support organizational growth and development through implementing and driving aligned proactive talent acquisition practices, including attraction, recruitment, and onboarding initiatives and processes.
  • Act as an ambassador during the implementation of global HR initiatives by engaging the local managers and employees and ensuring they understand its purpose and contribution

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in human resources, business management or a similar area
  • Proven track record as a HR Manager or similar
  • High-level knowledge of US employment laws
  • Business and solution oriented
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Global mindset and the ability to work in a multicultural environment
