Nortek Data Center Cooling is Hiring a Project Manager Near Oklahoma, OK

DescriptionPosition at Nortek Data Center CoolingSummary: The Project Manager, working with Product Management, engineering and operations, will plan the execution strategy and schedule for new product projects. The Project Manager will direct and manage the project from kick off to customer shipments. This includes managing resources and coordinating the efforts of cross functional team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager is responsible for keeping the projects on schedule and on budget, and must possess the ability to foresee the entire project as a whole at all times. The Project manager must be an effective communicator to keep all members that are involved in the project informed.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Works with team members, product managers and senior management to develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents that includes the scope, schedule, budgets, goals, and other deliverables
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from project approval to project closure
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
  • Plan, schedule and track project timelines, deliverables and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, presentations and critical issues lists
  • Review the content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
Knowledge Skills And Abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development.
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) highly desirable
  • Strong familiarity with tools, such as Microsoft Project and PLM systems
  • Persuasive and proactive individual with strong ability to adapt during times of change
  • Ability to effectively communication with team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast pace environment
Working Conditions
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person;
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to review documents and file them in a prescribed order, and organize documents and materials;

  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to work in an office setting and at a keyboard for an extended period of time, considered to be approximately 50%-70% of the workday.
