Primary Purpose of Position
The Student Engagement Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of the Affinity Center. This includes but is not limited to programming, event support and assisting the Director of Student Development and Support.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with wellness education, student retention, student leadership and student development theory.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills.
- Demonstrated skills in workshop facilitation, event planning, multi-tasking and prioritizing in a busy environment.
- Experience with college students in a university setting.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once with attention to detail and timely completion of projects.
- Ability to work consistently outside of regular business hours in the evenings and weekends.
- Ability to protect confidential information, use critical thinking skills and exercise tact and diplomacy when handling sensitive information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and with critical thinking skills.
- Budgeting skills to develop and implement programs within the budget.
- Collect data, assessment and create reports.
Minimum Education / Experience
- Experience working with college students in a university setting.
- Professional experience working with historically marginalized students.
- Experience with event programming and workshop facilitation.
Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation None
