Statement of Purpose: The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support by:

• obtaining information from employee/patients, employers, insurance companies, and others,
• maintaining patient records,
• maintaining schedules,
• billing for services,
• receiving payments,
• interacting with employers and employees,
• handling communications, including mail and telephone.

Under the supervision of the Director of Medical Records or designee, transcribes technical medical data from
recorded or digital dictation; sorts, and distributes transcribed reports and copies to appropriate offices or patient care areas.
Job RequirementsThe successful candidate will preferably have:

• a minimum of one year coding and charge entry;
• experience as a C.N.A. or Medical Assistant;
• successful completion of a two year medical secretarial position or a certificate in medical transcription.
• CMT certification and at least one year medical transcription experience.
• strong organizational, interpersonal, communicational, and filing skills;
• competency in computer use.

Successful completion of a medical terminology class and previous experience as a medical transcriptionist required. C.M.T. (Certified Medical Transcriptionist) is preferred. Computer skills required.
