North Dakota Women's Business Center is Hiring a Program Manager and Business Coach Near Bismarck, ND

Position: Program Manager and Business Coach 

Location: Bismarck, North Dakota 

  • Hybrid/Remote with access to Bismarck’s Office 

Reports to: Client Success Director 

At Women and Technology DBA North Dakota Women’s Business Center (NDWBC), we are passionate about amplifying the economic voice of women business owners through advocacy and access to critical resources across the state of North Dakota.

Position Overview 

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Program Manager to propel our mission, program, and client goals. The Program Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution and growth opportunities of the programming, stakeholders, and our team to achieve the program's objectives. In this role, you will work with small business owners to offer business coaching, connection, and support. NDWBC is a small, agile organization, so no two days in this role will be the same. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

These are examples of the key responsibilities of the role, not an exhaustive list. 

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE COORDINATION:

  • Effectively deliver business coaching services to clients who are seeking to start or grow their businesses. 
  • Coordinate the delivery of technical assistance services, including asynchronous, budget, reporting, intensives, 1:1 
  • Monitor progress and ensure compliance with grant requirements and regulations. 

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT:

  • Consult with existing partners and clients to learn market needs and share business sector best practices to advance the organization’s mission. 
  • Collaborate with businesses, community partners, and NDWBC team.
  • Facilitate regular communication and feedback channels to ensure program effectiveness and build strong relationships. 
  • Prepare regular reports for grant funders, the organization's leadership, and other stakeholders. 

PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION 

  • Plan and execute NDWBC programming and events including planning, content creation and delivery, event logistics, communication, registrations, and evaluating each program’s effectiveness. 
  • Manage the planning and implementation of training sessions, workshops, and conferences both virtual and in-person. Some travel across ND is required. 
  • Assist Marketing Manager with execution by posting on social media platforms, website, generating program e-newsletters, etc.
  • Conduct Program participant surveys and manage NDWBC’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database, Outcome Tracker, to track, analyze and quantify program impact.
  • Liaise with contractors and subject matter experts who support program implementation as needed. 
  • Passionate about making programmatic decisions based on the data that matters most to clients and the communities we serve. 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT 

  • Administrative support and programming planning and execution in alignment with Client Success Director. 
  • Manage reporting and data in support of the client success programming and grant requirements. 
  • Maintain accurate digital client files in appropriate tracking systems (CRM-Outcome Tracker) and administrative duties. 
  • Utilize tools required to execute client success programming efficiently within the organization. Tools such as Microsoft Suite, Outcome Tracker (CRM), LivePlan, Vertical IQ, etc. 

CLIENT ENGAGEMENT 

  • Seek to build inclusive partnerships, with an emphasis on minority, rural, and women business owners, in alignment with sub-awarded grants. 
  • Represent and advocate for NDWBC at state, federal and private conferences, and meetings through outreach and participation.
  • Attend meetings hosted by partner organizations to better understand the ecosystem and avoid duplication. 
  • Manage client engagement to gauge individual progress and identify training needs. 

TEAM COLLABORATION 

  • Build strong relationships with all NDWBC colleagues to understand, anticipate, and support the programmatic needs of the organization. 
  • Serves as a member of the client success team, providing guidance on issues and opportunities and helping with projects outside of his/her area of responsibility as needed. 

Skills and Characteristics of Top Candidates

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, entrepreneurship, communication, or related experience
  • Equal parts doer and thinker 
  • Knowledge and experience in providing technical and business assistance to small business owners while respecting client confidentiality or entrepreneurial experience.
  • Creative self-starter with strong time management skills who can work independently and on a team. Enjoys working with the public. 
  • Highly collaborative work style, exceptional work ethic, and personal integrity
  • Proven project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with a focus on details and the willingness to work and communicate collaboratively with diverse populations.
  • Commitment to continuous learning in the areas of business coaching, project management, program design, operational efficiency, and data analytics 
  • Demonstrated experience in relationship-building and community engagement
  • Solutions-oriented. Must be a passionate advisor/advocate, willing to voice concerns, but always with a recommended fix to share.
  • Comprehensive experience and knowledge of computer operation and Microsoft Office 360 platforms (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Teams, etc.) 
  • Excellent writing, proofing, editing, verbal, presentation, public speaking, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Applicants for this position must be able to travel and have access to reliable transportation as the role may involve travel to off-site locations, client meetings, or otherjob-related activities. Having dependable transportation is essential to ensure punctuality and the ability to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position effectively. This role will require proof of car insurance upon hire.
