North Marion Primary School is Hiring a Kindergarten Teacher - Temporary 2024-2025 Near Aurora, OR

Kindergarten Teacher - Temporary

North Marion Primary is currently looking for an experienced Kindergarten Teacher to join our team.

Our ideal candidate will have a passion for elementary education and developing foundational literacy and numeracy skills in our younger learners. Kindergarten teaching experience is preferred, but not required. Openness to teaching other grades at the elementary level and/or looping is an important mindset.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Oregon Teaching license issued through Oregon Teachers Standards and Practices Commission. Elementary endorsement required. (Early Childhood endorsement preferred)
  • Bilingual/Bicultural applicants desired, but not required (Spanish and Russian)

Documented recommendations on the following:

  • Highly motivated to continue professional growth
  • Experience with Culturally Responsive Teaching and Anti-Bias Training preferred
  • Ability to make instructional modifications for students on an IEP, students who are talented and gifted, students who are language learners, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with PBIS, RTI, GLAD, SIOP, Proficiency Based Grading, and SEL preferred

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Exhibits positive, professional and values student-first collaborative team work.
  • Provides learning experiences for kindergarten students consistent with state standards as well as district and school goals and objectives.
  • Engages parents in their child's education and regularly communicates with parents through a variety of means.
  • Fosters a positive and healthy learning environment that promotes diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Plans and coordinates the work of instructional assistants in the kindergarten room.
  • Holds high expectations for students learning and works effectively with students of varying abilities.
  • Develops and uses multimedia instructional materials suitable for various learning modalities of kindergarten students with a wide range of mental, physical and emotional maturity.
  • Communicates effectively with administration, staff, and students.
  • Cultivates inclusive and equitable working relationships with families that include consistent communication regarding child development and progress.
  • Is knowledgeable of available curriculum and high leverage teaching methods.
  • Works effectively with other staff members in planning and organization meeting all professional responsibilities.
  • Creates a classroom culture based on growth mindset, student assets, and trauma informed care such as routine and ritual.
  • Demonstrates excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Works as a member of a professional learning team to plan and organize effective and rigorous instruction.
  • Participates on a regular basis in in-service at both school and district level to maintain professional competence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Please note the salary range will change as we are still negotiating a successor contract.

North Marion School District is located on a 72 acre campus in Aurora, Oregon. Although our campus is located in Aurora, we serve multiple communities including Broadacres, Butteville, Donald, Hubbard and North Woodburn.
