The North State Building Industry Foundation (NSBIF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to create a future-ready homebuilding workforce through training, upskilling and placement for job seekers and current homebuilding industry professionals.
NSBIF is a closely held charitable arm of the North State Building Industry Association (NSBIA) and works in support of the needs of its member companies in addition to the communities of the greater Sacramento region.
We are a small, but mighty team that works well together, collectively driven by our mission and service to the region.
Job Brief:
We are looking for an individual to establish and maintain activities to develop, locate, and secure job openings and internships in support our team, programs & partnerships. This position will report directly to the Deputy Executive Director and will be responsible for the successful implementation of the following key deliverables:
· Develop and manage ongoing relationships with a variety of business and industry representatives and job placement/training agencies to promote programs for participant placement.
· Assists in providing work readiness skills with participants including job seeking, application procedures, resume writing, interview preparation, job retention skills and mock interviews.
· Participate in the coordination and successful deliver of the annual Skilled Trades Job Fair & Hiring Event.
· Manage internal job matching and applicant tracking software to assured job placements for youth and adults.
· Work with employers and schools to arrange community outreach activities such as presentations, site trips andl workshops.

· Monitor programs and produce monthly reports, providing updates to Leadership.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Job Development Support
Initiate and maintain ongoing personal contacts and relationships with a variety of business and Industry representatives and job placement/training agencies to promote programs for participant placement;
Cold calls to potential employers;
Explain the benefits and employment support services provided by programs to employers, including addressing employer’s special needs;
Research Internet, newspapers, agencies, and other resources for job leads;
Collect data from employers related to job orders including job requirements and skills;
Tasks and Responsibilities Job Development Support - continued:
Follow-up with employers and job seekers from NSBIAF’s Skilled Trades Job Fair with job fairs as well applications and job posts on NSBIAF’s online job board;
Match job skills with applicant qualifications; refers qualified applicants to employers and conducts Necessary follow-up when applicants are placed in positions;
Keep updated on job fairs and Internet resources;
Research various resume programs;
Participate in outreach and recruitment activities by coordinating and attending job fairs
Program Support
Assist participants in assessing their job skills for positions;
Administer, score, and assist students with standard career assessments;
Instruct job seeking, application procedures, resume writing, interview preparation, job retention skills, and attitudes; assists participants in preparing job search portfolio;
Provide job search/career information workshops and presentations;
Arrange and transports students to interviews and appointments
Provide labor market and community resource information
Monitor participant performance on the job and counsel participants
Work with participants to improve job performance and gain necessary job skills or reviews other employment options; maintain contact with employers during the participants' employment and reports results to appropriate staff
Prepare forms and reports related to placement activities; tracks participant activity & progress data
Communications
Provide program information to various businesses, and updates information as needed
Coordinate business orientations: maintains contact with companies and assists as needed.
Assists in developing flyers, brochures, and other methods to advertise job placement activities; Coordinates and distributes information and materials for meetings
Assist in planning meeting agendas; meeting set-up; maintain lists for various committees
Keep current with trends and maintain updated labor market information by researching Web sites, attending meetings, maintaining contacts with various trade schools and professional/community Organizations that are involved in job placement/training activities.
Record, compile, transcribe and distribute minutes of meetings.
Conduct industry research as directed.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Education:
Minimum AA/AS degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of skills, training, and experience
Work LocationThe position is hybrid remote work with occasion office work at 1536 Eureka Road, Roseville, CA 95661
Salary and schedule 40 hours/week. Monday – Friday, $21- 25/hour depending on experience, medical and 401(k) benefits.
