North Texas Food Bank is Hiring a Warehouse Team Lead Freezer/Cooler - First Shift Near Plano, TX

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the produce cooler, dairy cooler and freezer. This includes ensuring the put-away process is effective and efficient to manage donated and purchased product.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
•High school diploma or GED required
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
•Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
•Must have strong verbal and written communication skills as it relates to the job
•Able to work effectively with a team and also independently
•Able to stay organized while juggling multiple projects and priorities
•Action-oriented with strong attention to detail and accuracy
•Knowledge of measurement and tracking of KPI's
•Working knowledge of warehouse management systems
•Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Experience:
•Two years with perishable shipping, receiving, and inventory control within a temperature-controlled warehouse
•Experience operating a reach truck
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Manage the product flow of the various coolers/freezer areas for all inbound product to meet quality standards for distribution, including:
•Ensure proper rotation of fresh product based on viability to minimize waste and reduce quality issues
•Provide timely response to inquiries and requests from external and internal food bank stakeholders as it relates to documentation, purchase orders, and schedule of deliveries
•Perform efficient unloading of inbound trucks, including proper inspection, receiving and put-away of all product
•Ensure that all outbound product is properly picked, staged, and accounted for within NTFB systems
•Follow all food safety and personnel safety standards, including cleanliness, orderliness, security, and safety of the facility
•Detects and eliminates or minimizes safety hazards per all applicable policies and procedures
•Work closely with the Receiving Manager to establish best practices and communicate emerging issues and concerns; make recommendations for warehouse processes improvement
•Provide leadership and assign tasks to the team; train warehouse staff as needed
•Perform other tasks and duties as assigned

•The person in this position needs to be able to read; communicate verbally and/or in written form; remember and analyze certain information and remember and understand certain instructions or guidelines.
•The person in this position needs to adapt well in the face of workplace stressors such as complaints, maintaining the security of people and property, meeting deadlines and competing priorities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear.
•Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
•Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.
•Must be able to successfully operate all gas and electric-powered MHE
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
•The noise level in the work environment will range from moderate to loud (e.g., medium to heavy traffic in the warehouse with forklifts and pallet jacks)
•This person should have the ability to work in constant cold/freezing temperatures.
•First shift schedule (Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm) with flexibility based on business demands
•Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends as required.
