Fleet Maintenance Equipment Technician I
Section 1 – Position Summary
This position assists in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of vehicles and equipment such as pickup trucks, service body trucks, sedans, A TVs, golf carts, trailers, generators, truck tractors, small earth moving equipment, and mowers.
Section 2 – Major Responsibilities
1. Provide assistance with routine preventative maintenance and repair to vehicles and grounds equipment such as pickup trucks, service body trucks, sedans, side by sides, golf carts, A TVs, trailers, truck tractors, small earth moving equipment, and mowers.
2. Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with district and OEM factory standards.
3. Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
4. Assist with preventative maintenance, welding, electrical, tire and hydraulic repairs.
5. Will be assigned various related duties as necessary.
Section 3 – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
1. Must have the ability to comprehend, carry out and administer written and oral instruction. Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs with general supervision.
2. Must have the ability to read operation and maintenance manuals.
3. Must possess a minimum of two years of experience with light/heavy vehicle maintenance and repair, welding, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
4. ASE Certification preferred but not required.
5. Must possess a high school diploma or GED
6. Requires a valid Texas Driver's License.
Section 4 – Environmental Factors, Activity Levels and Equipment
This position requires continuous physical exertion often of a strenuous nature. Lifts or pulls/pushes 50 to 100 pounds on a daily basis in order to repair and service vehicles, equipment and machinery while using various hand tools and equipment. Example: Automotive diagnostic equipment, wheel balancing equipment, tire repairing equipment, small hand tools, drill, drill press, grinder, air-powered tools, welding torch, torque wrench, jack and lift equipment. Working conditions include outdoor work and exposure to weather, odor, noise, gases and dust.
