Primary Function : Coordinates the College's compliance to Title IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Works in conjunction with Human Resources to develop and implement educational programs regarding discrimination and sexual harassment prevention, ensuring faculty, staff and students understand their rights and responsibilities under the law.
Oversees and coordinates student-related investigations, responses and resolutions to complaints, to include supervision of investigators and selection and training of Deputy Title IX Coordinators.
Further, coordinates the institution's Clery Compliance program, working collaboratively with various offices throughout the college to develop policies, procedures, activities, and protocols to ensure the institution's full and complete compliance with all provisions of the Federal Jeanne Clery Act, including an annual security report, a public Daily Crime Log, emergency notification requirements, testing, identifying and training Campus Security Authorities (CSA's), an annual list of all properties owned and / or leased by the University, collecting annual crime statistics for incidents occurring with Clery geography as well and trips and travel that meet the definition of Clery collectable crime statistics, and reports of missing students.
The Clery Compliance Manager's responsibilities are college -wide and highly visible.
Responsibilities : (1) Develops, implements, coordinates and conducts educational programs and initiatives designed to educate and support faculty, staff, and students regarding their rights and, where applicable, obligations under Title IX, including reporting options / responsibilities, support services, College policy and applicable disciplinary code, grievance procedures, confidential resources, etc.
2) Oversees, coordinates and ensures investigations of student-related reports and complaints of sexual misconduct are adequate, reliable, timely, confidential and impartial in accordance with current Title IX regulations.
3) Selects, trains, and oversees designated Deputy Title IX Coordinators across critical areas of the institution; ensures investigators, adjudicators and those involved with processing Title IX complaints are adequately trained in compliance with Title IX regulations.
4) Keeps College Title IX policy up to date in compliance with current Title IX regulations. (5) Collaborates with leadership and campus community to disseminate information related to Title IX.
6) Ensures ongoing compliance with Title IXin all aspects of the law and current regulations. (7) Serves as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.
8) Performs other duties as may be assigned. (9) Coordinates the institution's Clery Act compliance program. (10) Identifies and trains institutional "campus security authorities" and key institutional stakeholders on Clery Act requirements.
11) Works with various offices and services on campus to gather statistical data related to crimes disclosed to those offices;
Consolidates relevant data from these sources with information and policies from across institutional departments. (12) Gathers crime and disciplinary referral data from various internal / external sources as needed.
13) Collects information, prepares, and publishes the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report and submits crime data to the Department of Education.
14) Maintains all Clery Act records. (15) Prints and posts online the Daily Crime Log for all campuses. (16) Reviews Timely Warning and Emergency Notification requirements, (17) Coordinates annual drills and testing.
18) Manages short stay away trips and off campus travel for Clery reporting purposes. (19) Establish and coordinate meetings of the Clery Act Compliance Committee.
Organizational Relationships : (1) Responsible to Associate Vice Provost and Dean of Students for assigned responsibilities.
3) Relates individual and organization's role to College mission and goals.
Performance Standards : Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when : (1) Mutually agreed upon objectives have been attained within specified time frame.
2) Responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives. (3) Effective cooperation exists with other members of the administrative team.
h) Familiarity with Uniform Crime Reporting. (3) Experience : (a) Previous experience required in Title IX administration (Coordinator, Deputy, Investigator).
Higher education experience preferred. (b) Minimum of one year experience in Clery Act Compliance at an institution of higher education
