Job DescriptionNorth coast Children 's Services
Site Supervisor
Under the direct supervision of the Supervision Manager, the Site Supervisor is responsible for the direct oversight of a licensed childcare center consisting of more than one classroom, including the implementation of comprehensive, cross -component services delivered to NCS families enrolled at the site. This is a non-exempt position.
Duties / ResponsibilitiesSupervision and Training
  • Establishes and maintains a supportive work environment for all staff in the site through positive and direct communication and team building activities.
  • Ensures California Community Care Licensing requirements are always met including:
  • Maintaining current site personnel and child files and rosters
  • Maintaining up to date postings as required
  • Ensuring proper ratios adult to child ratios are maintained
  • Ensuring children are visually supervised
  • Communicating site maintenance needs to the Facilities Supervisor.
  • In collaboration with other NCS management staff, develops strategies for quality guidance, training, and support of NCS field staff for the effective implementation of integrated program services.
  • Develops and implements a plan of supervision that includes regular observation and feedback of staff and classrooms.
  • Assists staff in the assessment of the needs of children and their families and facilitates case conferencing with coordinators, other field staff, or community agencies as needed.
  • Reviews, monitors, and ensures compliance of required paperwork from staff at the site. Ensures that correct processes are being followed; that paperwork is complete, accurate, and timely; and that follow-up is completed in all program areas.
  • Conducts performance reviews and goal reviews on all supervised staff within required time frames and reviews performance reviews and goals for all staff at the site.
  • Is responsible for the identification of staff training needs within the site. Facilitates training or refers staff to the appropriate management staff for training. Monitors staff in-service participation.
  • In collaboration with Staff Development Director, and Center Teacher when appropriate, makes plans and monitors follow through of staff personnel issues.
  • Facilitates regular team meetings for all staff at the center.
  • Monitors appropriate supervision of all staff, including volunteers, at the site.
  • Assists staff in the development of appropriate and professional relationships and boundaries with the families they serve.
  • Supports staff in the implementation of NCS chosen curriculum.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Program Management
  • Provides leadership in conveying the mission and objectives of NCS and models a strength-based approach to communication, supervision, teamwork and support.
  • Acts as a vital link between NCS management staff and field staff in order to promote effective communication, understanding and positive relationships and teamwork.
  • Facilitates hiring of site staff as needed.
  • Attends regular supervision team meetings, committee meetings, and Policy Council meetings as required.
Community Development
  • In collaboration with other NCS staff, is responsible for contributing to the development of positive local and community partnerships.
  • Develops relationships that facilitate quality services between the HS/EHS and NCS program and other community programs. Takes a key role in working toward resolution of cross program issues that may arise.
  • Attends local and out of town meetings as required by the needs of the program.
Qualifications
  • AA Degree in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Sociology or related field required. Two years' experience working with preschool children.
  • Site Supervisor permit required.
  • Experience in supervision of staff including knowledge of staff development and adult learning processes and the ability to direct and train others.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with other staff and community support persons.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start Performance Standards and CSPP and CCTR funding terms and conditions desired.
  • Knowledge of community and Social Service agencies desired.
  • Knowledge of California Community Care Licensing requirements.
  • Must possess high level interpersonal communication and conflict management skills.
  • Must possess good organizational and time management skills.
  • Must provide evidence of reliable, insured transportation available for travel during working hours.
Physical Requirements
  • Must successfully complete a health screening and provide proof of the absence of TB no later than 7 days following the date of hire.
Health and Safety Training Requirements
  • Must have a current Criminal Record Clearance with current Child Abuse Index Check on file with Community Care Licensing or provide fingerprints and a Child Abuse Index Check prior to the first day of work to obtain a Criminal Record Clearance from the Department of Justice.
  • Must possess, or be willing to obtain within 30 days, a current pediatric
Salary: $27.69 - $29.09 per hour
