The Family Engagement Specialist position is responsible for providing on-site childcare to children ages 0-17 years while their family members are receiving services from the agency. The FES will engage children in constructive activities while ensuring safety and confidentiality for each child. This position requires occasional management of the front desk.
The Children's Advocacy Center for North Texas is an agency that works with a multi-disciplinary team, including law enforcement and the Department of Family and Protective Services, to facilitate the investigation of severe child abuse cases and provide support services to the alleged victims and their non-offending family members. The Advocacy Center provides services to Denton, Wise, and Jack counties. This position will have a designated location, but travel between all offices will occasionally be required.
Compensation: Starting at $15/hour
The available shifts for these positions will be as follows:
Position 1:

• Monday - Thursday 4 pm to 9 pm

Position 2:

• Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 12 pm to 4 pm

Position 3:

• PRN (as needed) shifts when there is a demand for additional help, such as covering for someone who is sick, filling gaps in the schedule, and during busy times. These shift times will vary between the hours of 8 am to 9 pm Monday through Thursday and 8 am to 5 pm on Friday.

The Family Engagement Specialist's responsibilities include:

• Engage children of all ages waiting in the Activity Center in constructive group and/or individual activities.
• Greet all clients, donors, volunteers, vendors, and team members and connect them with appropriate staff.
• Provide exceptional customer service and help resolve client/team/staff concerns.
• Ensure donations are received, documented, and distributed to the appropriate staff/place.
• Provide information on available services and ensure the availability of resource materials in waiting/activity areas.
• Adhere to all CACNT security and procedural policies.
• Communicate any client concerns or needs with other staff to ensure high-quality service.
• Ensure office and PPE supplies are available.
• Ensure that waiting spaces and activity center areas are clean, safe, organized, and adequately equipped with necessary supplies.
• Answer and transfer incoming calls, and distribute incoming/outgoing mail and faxes.
• Schedule transportation services for clients.
• Enter services in the database as appropriate.
• Participate in scheduled team meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Must be willing to work at both Lewisville / Denton offices including off-site event locations.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Other duties as assigned.

Travel:

• This position is based in the Bridgeport, TX office, but candidate must be willing to work at all offices (Bridgeport, Lewisville, and Denton) when agency needs arise

Education and Training:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience providing childcare required.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience providing customer service required.
