Department Overview

Cardiovascular Intermediate Care Unit (CVIMC) is a 35 Bed Unit. 27 beds within this unit are private rooms and 8 are Semi-Private to house a total of 35 Patients. This telemetry unit is monitored by the Central Monitoring Unit (CMU). The types of patients on this unit include:

• Pre-open heart surgery and other cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients
• Stable post-op open-heart, along with other cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients transferred from higher level of care.
• Pre and post cardiac catheterization patients.
• Pre and post cardiac intervention patients, including pacemaker insertions and ICD implantations.
• Interventional peripheral and renal angioplasty patients requiring sheath care and removal
• Patients with arterial and venous sheath care, monitoring and removal
• Treatment of patients with cardiac arrhythmia
• Pre and post electrophysiology and ablation therapy
• Pre and post valve replacement, including TAVR

Minimum Job Qualifications

• Licensure or other certifications: Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia.
• Educational Requirements: Associate's Degree, ADN or Diploma required
• Minimum Experience: At least 1 year of RN experience – Demonstrated competence in RN I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire
