Northeast Iowa Community College is Hiring an Assistant Retail Manager Near Peosta, IA

Efficiently manage the daily operations of the Peosta campus Cougar Store.

Duties and Responsibilities

Address customer and employee issues promptly, respectfully, and effectively.

Maintain a visible presence on the sales floor greeting customers, answering inquiries, and providing assistance as needed.

Utilize effective communication and public relations skills in interactions with both internal and external stakeholders.

Act as the primary point of contact for students, staff, and College departments in accurately receipting, recording, and balancing tuition payments. Reconcile daily cashiering sessions and prepare deposits.

Organize and monitor student accounts, account receivable, and cashiering processes completed by other staff to ensure accuracy and timely completion

Function as a first point of contact for telephone calls, emails, and walk-ins regarding student account balances. Responds inquiries from students or staff in person, by phone, or via email.

Qualifications

Associate degree required. Work experience in retail or marketing preferred.

Essential Functions

Collaborate with vendors and the marketing team to design and order merchandise.

Oversee the setup of new inventory in the system, ensuring accuracy in tagging and pricing.

Monitor inventory levels and reorder stock as needed to maintain optimal inventory levels.

Create appealing merchandise displays to attract customers.

Work with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional strategies to boost store sales.

Plan and execute in-store events and promotions to increase foot traffic and sales.

Maintain and promote the Cougar Store website.

Assist students in purchasing textbooks, course materials, and supplies.

Prepare order requisitions; track invoices and payments in a timely manner.

Conduct cash register sales, credit card transactions, and charges to financial aid and internal department accounts using the store’s point-of-sale system.

Reconcile daily receipts for deposit using the designated point-of-sale system.
