Will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist at all times. Duties to include, but not limited to: sterile IV compounding in compliance with USP 797, non-sterile compounding in compliance with USP 795 and USP 800, automated dispensing cabinet restocks and inventory management, outdates and crash cart management. Expected to perform lead technician duties relating to the department needs such as interdepartmental billing, compliance audits, maintaining the sterile compounding program in accordance with USP 797 and USP 800, inventory management, training and oversight of other technicians. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Will report directly to the staff pharmacists or pharmacy director. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Required qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Completed an accredited pharmacy technician program with an active PTCB CPhT Certification. 1-2 years of experience in hospital pharmacy or related experience. Preferred qualifications: CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) and CSPT (Certified Compounding Sterile Preparation Certificate).
