SUMMARY:
NET/NCC is seeking a Director of Youth Engagement and Advocacy who will support as a Mentor in working with youth justice initiatives participants ages 13 to 18. Reporting to executive level leadership, this Director will develop and oversee a NET/NCC Youth Committee, mentorship programming activities—including group workshops and individual mentorship sessions. These activities will take place virtually, on-site, and in the community. This leader will research innovative and best practices as it relates to youth engagement and advocacy programs and make recommendation and/or initiate planning activities once programming ideas are approved. This leader will conduct trauma/EBP circles and interventions as well as post-crisis reviews with youth participating in select NET/NCC programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited college or university with a major in the social work, criminal justice, human services, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Child Welfare, Social Services, Juvenile Justice with at least 3 years supervisory experience.
Independent Project Management Experience is a plus.
Strong knowledge related to child welfare, social services, and case-management as it relates to servicing delinquent/dependent children and youth.
Willingness to work non-traditional hours when needed based on program needs, including overnights and weekends.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel at the intermediate to advanced level.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Advanced oral and written communication skills to effectively problem-solve.
