Northeast Valley Health Corporation is Hiring a Licensed Vocational Nurse II Near Pacoima, CA

Definition:
 
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) I/II/III provides a variety of administrative, clinical nursing, health education, and outreach services within the community health center. Basic skills for physical assessment include observation, auscultation, palpation and percussion. Basic mental status assessment includes observation of general behavior, appearance and attitude, collection of data relative to sensorium or orientation to time, person and place, and assessment of recall ability. When the LVN notes a problem, complication or abnormality, he/she must notify the physician or Registered Nursing Supervisor under whose direction the licensee functions. The LVN cannot independently evaluate or synthesize data.

Reports to:
 
Direct & Administrative: Registered Nursing Supervisor or Program Manager
Professional/Technical: Director of Nursing Services Varied and depends on Clinical Area (Women’s Health: Public Health Services & Programs, etc.)

Lead Duties: May lead a team of Medical Assistants, Team Clerks, Community Health Workers, and other unlicensed assistive personnel as appropriate.

Qualifications:
1. Must have graduated from an LVN program and have at least one (1) year of experience in an ambulatory care facility with patient education expertise preferred and have worked in one or more of the following areas:

 (a) Pediatrics - CHDP
 (b) Family planning, title 10 program
 (c) Prenatal or Perinatal CPSP
 (d) Diabetes
 (e) Adult care, chronic disease

2. Must be a high school graduate or have a GED equivalency.
3. Satisfactory completion of a state approved program in vocational nursing, plus current license to practice in the State of California.
4. Bilingual Spanish/English is required in most positions and only preferred in others.
5. Valid CA Driver’s License, current vehicle liability insurance, and an available vehicle required.
6. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
7. Must maintain a current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certification, in compliance with corporate CPR Policy.
8. Must be willing and able to work a varied and flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of NEVHC and its patients.
9. Must maintain or exceed competency levels as established by corporate standards for clinical practice.
10. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care.
11. The MIS Patient Information System access level is 2.
