Northeastern University is Hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate Near Boston, MA
About the Opportunity Conduct research on machine learning and control theory as part of a MURI grant. The work will combine tools from dynamical systems, control theory, and the theory of algorithms and computation, involving the analysis of controllability, observability, and parameter identifiability in recurrent networks, the study of the overparameterization phenomena in feedforward neural network learning, theory of online learning of dynamical systems from data, and comparing reinforcement learning to model-based control approaches. The Postdoctoral Associate will give presentations of their work, will help write papers reporting on research results, will help supervise graduate students, and will closely interact with the other PIs in the team. Qualifications: A successful candidate will have a strong foundation in dynamical systems, control theory, and the theory of algorithms and computation, ideally with experience in the analysis of reinforcement learning, convergence of neural networks, and numerical optimization algorithms. The candidate should possess a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
