POSITION: Food Safety & Quality Specialist
REPORTS TO: Director of Food Safety and Quality
SUMMARY OF POSITION : This position is responsible for assisting in maintaining the quality control documentation of the facility according to Federal and State Guidelines for food manufacturing facilities. This position will also follow company, customer and third-party audit standards for the facility while knowing and complying with all safety rules and good manufacturing practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Training management
• Creating SOP
• Customer complaint trending
• Participate in HACCP meetings
• Oversee internal audit schedule
• Participate in 3rd party audits
• Working knowledge of how perform recalls
• Data entry, trending and reporting of environmental monitoring program
• Perform internal audits
• Galileo updates (i.e. spec updates, SOP updates, task updates, labels, etc.)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills required to interface with plant and office personnel.
• Basic computer skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Ability to work as a team and independently when needed.
• PCQI Certification preferred, but not required
• Previous experience in food manufacturing preferred but not required
