Summary:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification, registration, and/or assessed competencies. The incumbent must be a graduate of a 2-year associate degree or a 4-year Baccalaureate Degree National Board for Respiratory Care (NRBC) approved Respiratory Therapy Program. Bachelors degree preferred. The RRT must have current BLS certification with ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred. The RRT must hold current Maine State professional license and meet the current license eligibility requirements of the NBRC. The incumbent must possess good clinical, communication and interpersonal skills. The RRT must be able to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team as well as independently. The RRT must possess good technical aptitude to understand and operate highly complex medical equipment. The RRT performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job.
