Northern York County School District is Hiring a Full-time Custodians Near Dillsburg, PA
Hourly Rate: $14.00 (Plus additional $0.75/hour when working 2nd shift during school year)
8 hours/day (2nd shift during school year; 1st shift during summer)
Full-time District Benefits IncludedSummary Of PurposeThis position is responsible for keeping assigned building(s) clean, safe, functional, and secure in accordance with prescribed codes and established District policies and standards. Critical areas include the maintenance of all assigned building(s) in a state of operational excellence such that they present no interruptions, distractions, or obstacles to the education program.
Essential Job Functions
- Daily custodial cleaning/preservation of facilities, buildings, spaces, equipment, and furniture
- Maintain work related records and prepare work reports as directed
- Provide custodial/maintenance services to support curricular and extracurricular events and activities
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment needed for daily cleaning
- Provide inventory usage data updates to Head Custodian (as needed)
- Identify, schedule and perform seasonal routine cleaning of facilities
- Provide customer service to district staff, students and visitors as needed
- Prioritize duties to address emergencies as needed
- Oversee buildings and grounds security to include opening and closing of buildings and/or facilities and ensuring that all doors are secure
- Unload and load supplies, materials and equipment as required
- Landscaping duties including, but not limited to: mowing, weeding, and grounds maintenance
- Snow removal duties including shoveling snow and salting walkways
- Adherence to all Custodial Department requirements including proper use of machinery and equipment
- Available to address on call or overtime needs for emergency repairs, equipment monitoring, or any other District requests
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Buildings and Grounds, Head Custodian, or Building Administrator

PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTALActivities: Sitting <5%, walking/standing 95-100%, regular lifting up to 50 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 80 lbs., reaching with hands and arms, bending, kneeling, twisting, pushing, pulling; climbing on ladder
Vision: Normal; Close vision, color vision and ability to focus
Mental Demands: Ability to interpret, analyze and problem solve written and verbal communications
Environment: Moderate noise level; Hot, cold, dry, wet conditions, dust, caustic/harmful chemicals, blood-borne pathogens and/or indoor and outdoor conditions; Evening and weekend work
