Responsibilities include but are not limited to review and reconciliation of balance differences on service released mortgage loans. Identification and submission of requests to New Servicers for revision of Purchase Advice data and escrow refunds. Experience using formulas to organize and manipulate large data sets in Microsoft Excel is required. Ability to analyze data and to summarize quantitative trends is preferred. Exceptional customer service skills are essential along with willingness to learn and assume roles tied to mortgage investor reporting and remittance. Previous servicing transfer or agency reporting experience, including Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac exposure is a plus.
Responsibilities:
• Identify and understand basic loan products, i.e. ARMS, fixed rate, and HELOC options.
• General ledger and DDA research, reconciliations and corrections.
• Review and understand basic mortgage loan documentation, such as Note, Initial Escrow Account Disclosure (IEAD), and Purchase Advice (PA).
• Review daily exception reports to identify data discrepancies tied to loan UPB, paid to date, Active Servicer, and escrow balances.
• Conduct research to confirm root cause of loan UPB, paid to date, and escrow balance differences.
• Notify team members of data discrepancies to ensure timely resolution.
• Request data corrections and escrow refunds from New Servicers on service released accounts.
• Maintain and provide monthly metrics around recouperation of escrow refunds on service released accounts.
• Facilitate bi-weekly cross-functional meetings with management to review escrow recouperation efforts.
• Update system notes for issues, account charges, requests, and outgoing funds.
• Understand loan transaction history inquiry, including escrow disbursements.
• Work with outside vendors and correspondents to ensure accurate and timely transfer of servicing.
• Request payment of taxes and insurance if needed from the escrow department.
• Issuance of Transfer of Servicing Letters, Mortgagee Clause changes, Tax Authority Change Letters, etc. within regulatory time frames.
• Execute servicing transfers and remittances for loans sold on the Secondary Market. (Freddie/Fannie/ Private/etc.)
• Demonstrate the ability to problem solve to ensure customer satisfaction with both internal and external customers.
• Assist with audit preparation, investigation, and coordination, both internal and external.
• Meet established standards and guidelines regarding compliance, job knowledge, quality, attendance, efficiency, initiative, customer service, and overall performance.
• Maintain customer confidence by providing ongoing quality service and keeping all files and information confidential.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent with strong math and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of various mortgage documents and processes.
• Strong Excel Skills.
• Professional demeanor and interaction with all customers.
• Effective interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment as well as independently.
• Ability to pay attention to detail and multi-task while handling a high volume of work with multiple interruptions and limited mistakes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, interpretive, and decision-making skills to identify, evaluate and resolved issues/cases.
• Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, any other mortgage/banking software, etc.).
• Professional demeanor, effective interpersonal and communication skills with a diverse range of individuals/customers.
