Our ideal homes would enjoy the challenge of building up their community by providing a live-in, encouraging, and reliable atmosphere in their home for one child (ages 7-11 for a 6-9-month term). No experience is required, we will provide all training and education needed, plus the support and availability of the team 24/7!

Duties and Responsibilities as a Therapeutic Parent

· Be part of a professional team

· Provide safety and stability for a child in your home

· Provide the child with daily essentials and home living environment for 6-9 months

· Support the child and treatment process

· Demonstrate ability to supervise, and model constructive behaviors

· Monitor needed medical care

· Support the child's educational needs/goals

· Support the child's therapeutic process

Qualifications and Skills for a Therapeutic Parent

Educational / Licensing Requirements

· Licensing and training will be provided by TFCO-Northpointe.

Basic Qualifications

· Flexible schedule to provide youth supervision

· Reliable transportation

· Provide a private bedroom for one TFCO child (age 7-11)

· Live in Michigan within (or near) 40 minutes of Dickinson, Iron, or Menominee County

· No current foster care children

· Be at least 18 years of age

· Pass a background check
